One great way to turn that frown upside down is a good rum cocktail. Good news, we have prepared 5 delicious rum cocktail recpies for you to whip up at home or at the bar. Rum can be light or dark, and the flavors can vary from sweet and subtle to deeper notes like caramel. Pair this with fruit and you’ll be on your way to paradise!

1. West St. Mama
The West St. Mama is a drink bursting with tropical flavors and a touch of spice. Topped with a Cherry and a sprig of mint keeps it fresh. Originally conjured up in Reno, NV, by Kyle Alexander. Thanks Kyle!
To prepare, simply add all ingredients, shake, strain, and garnish.

- 2 oz Spiced Rum
- 1.5 oz Orange Juice
- 1.5 oz Lime Juice
- 1.5 oz Pineapple Juice
2. Cuba Libre
Elevate your Rum and Coke to the Cuba Libre! This classic cocktail adds one simple ingredient that takes it to a whole new level.
Pour your rum and lime over ice and top with Cola. Garnish with mint.

- 2 oz White Rum
- 0.5 oz lime juice

3. Mai Tai
The classics will always be classic, like the Mai Tai. A cornerstone tropical drink, the Mai Tai blends two kinds of rum with lime, orange, and orgeat. Makes my mouth water just thinking about one. Whip one up yourself and put it in a smart lookin’ tiki glass. Be sure to tag us if you post it online!!!
Here’s how you do it. First, add everything but the dark rum to your shaker with ice. Second, shake it up and strain over fresh ice. Finally, float the dark rum over the top. Garnish and enjoy!
- 1.5 oz White rum
- 0.5 oz Fresh lime juice
- 0.5 oz Orange curaçao
- 0.5 oz Orgeat syrup
- 0.5 oz Dark rum

4. Strawberry Rum Slammer
What better way to add some flavor to an afternoon than with strawberries and rum? These two go together so well you will be slammin’ them down. Enjoy the Strawberry Rum Sammer tonight!
To make your own, start by adding all your ingredients to your shaker and shake with ice. Double strain if you don’t like the pulp. This version has the pulp in it still. I think it’s better that way but you might catch a seed or two between your teeth!

- 2 oz White Rum
- 1 oz Lime Juice
- 0.5 oz Grenadine
- 0.5 oz Strawberry Puree
- Lingonberry Garnish (optional)
5. Dark & Stormy
Ginger beer is one of my favorite carbonated beverages. Mix it with some bitters and you have something special. Add the rum, and you got yourself a party. Mix up all three and enjoy a Dark and Stormy today!
To prepare, pour an iced-cold ginger beer over fresh ice (leaving room for rum). Dash your bitters and float the 2oz of dark rum on top. Great sipping cocktail!
